Four Papers Accepted at AfricaNLP 2025

Happy to share that five of our papers have been accepted at the AfricaNLP 2025 workshop, co-located with ACL 2025!

    Contribution: This paper presents our comprehensive work on developing NLP resources and tools for Hausa, one of Africa’s most widely spoken languages.

  2. AfroXLMR-Social: AfroXLMR-Social: Adapting Pre-trained Language Models for African Languages Social Media Text
    Contribution: This paper presents our specialized XLM-R model for social media content across diverse African languages.

  3. Automatic Speech Recognition for African Low-Resource Languages: Challenges and Future Directions
    Contribution: This paper presents obstacles in developing ASR systems for African languages and proposes innovative solutions.

  4. Who Wrote This? Identifying Machine vs Human-Generated Text in Hausa
    Contribution: The first large-scale dataset for Hausa machine-generated text.
